What counts as a corporate e-gift
A corporate e-gift reaches the recipient as a link or code instead of a parcel. In India that means one of two things. An e-gift card or voucher: a balance the person spends at a retailer or on an app. Or a gift link: a personal link to a short list of real products, where the person picks one and enters their own delivery address.
Both are sent by email in minutes and both work for remote and multi-city teams. The difference is what the person ends up with.
| E-gift card or voucher | Gift link (recipient chooses a product) | |
|---|---|---|
| What the person receives | A balance to spend | A physical gift they chose, delivered to their home |
| Carries your logo | On the email only | On the product |
| Recipient sees the price | Yes, it is the gift | No |
| Speed | Same day | Days to choose, then production and delivery |
| What you need to collect | Email addresses | Email addresses; recipients enter their own postal address |
| Best for | Spot rewards, last-minute gifts, very large or international teams | Festivals, onboarding, milestones, client gifts |
When an e-gift card is the right call
Vouchers suit cases where speed matters most: a spot reward on the day, a festival gift approved too late to produce anything, or a team spread across many countries. They are also the simplest to run.
The downside: a voucher is a number. People compare it with last year's, spend it on groceries, and nothing with your name stays on the desk.
When a gift link works better
A gift link arrives as a real object that can carry the logo, and it removes the two hard parts of physical gifting for HR: collecting home addresses and guessing sizes and tastes. Each person picks from the options you approved, chooses a size or colour if needed, and enters the address themselves.
With Zyftt Gift Links you set a budget, pick three to five products, and upload a list of names and emails. Each recipient gets a personal, one-time link. After the choose-by date you get one GST invoice for what was actually chosen, and anyone who did not choose gets the default gift you picked.
- Minimum 25 recipients per campaign.
- Logo branding is ₹50 per piece (not on food items). Home delivery is ₹149 per recipient.
- Recipients never see prices.
Tax and accounting, briefly
For employees, gifts and gift vouchers are treated alike: gifts from an employer above ₹5,000 in a financial year are generally a taxable perquisite, and vouchers count towards the same limit. Cash and cash-like items are treated less favourably than a gift in kind, so check with finance before choosing vouchers for higher-value rewards.
For the company, GST credit on gifts is restricted, and vouchers have their own GST treatment. This is general information, not advice; your finance team should confirm how each option is booked.

- Needed today, or going to many countries: e-gift card.
- A festival, a welcome, a milestone or a client thank-you with a week or more to spare: gift link.
- Everyone in one office and you know what they want: order the gift in bulk and hand it over.
Frequently asked questions
What is corporate e-gifting?+
Sending a business gift as a link or code by email. It is either an e-gift card or voucher the person spends, or a gift link where the person picks a physical gift and enters their own delivery address.
Are digital corporate gifts better than physical gifts?+
They are faster and easier to send to remote teams. A voucher is quickest but leaves nothing behind; a gift link is sent digitally and still ends with a real, branded gift at the person's door.
Are e-gift cards for employees taxable in India?+
Gifts and gift vouchers from an employer above ₹5,000 in a financial year are generally a taxable perquisite for the employee. Check with your finance team.
What is the minimum for a Zyftt Gift Links campaign?+
25 recipients. You choose three to five products within your budget and each person picks one.
Can recipients see what the gift cost?+
Not with a gift link: recipient pages and emails show product photos and names only. With an e-gift card the value is the gift.
