Benchmarks by occasion

These are the ranges we see across enquiries on Zyftt, not rules. A 40-person startup often spends more per head than a 4,000-person enterprise; what matters is that the gift fits the relationship and the rest of your budget goes into getting it delivered well.

OccasionTypical per headNotes
Diwali — employees₹500–1,500Most mid-size companies sit at ₹700–1,000
Diwali — clients and partners₹1,500–5,000Tiered by account value
Onboarding kit₹1,000–3,000See the onboarding kit checklist
Work anniversary (1 / 5 / 10 years)₹1,000 / ₹2,500 / ₹5,000+The number should visibly rise with tenure
Conference or event giveaway₹150–500Volume item; the bag matters more than the trinket
Festive gift for vendors₹500–1,500Hampers, shared in the vendor's office
Retirement or long service₹3,000–10,000A keepsake plus a personal note

What actually moves the unit price

  • Quantity. Bulk tiers apply at 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 pieces — the same bottle is noticeably cheaper at 250 than at 25. Combining Diwali, onboarding and event orders into fewer purchase orders is the easiest saving there is.
  • Branding method. Print is the cheapest; engraving and embroidery cost more per piece but last as long as the product.
  • Packaging. A rigid gift box adds roughly ₹40–150 per unit against a polybag; for hampers the box is part of the gift.
  • Delivery. Standard shipping to one address is free on zyftt.com; 300 homes are 300 shipments, quoted separately and typically ₹80–200 each depending on PIN code and weight.
  • Customisation. Bespoke colours, moulds or fully custom hampers raise the minimum quantity and the lead time.

A worked example: 300 employees at ₹800

Budget the all-in number, not the sticker price. If ₹1,020 per head is too high, the box and the delivery are where you trim first; the gift itself is the last thing to cut.

LineCalculationAmount
Gifts (GST included)300 × ₹800₹2,40,000
Rigid gift box300 × ₹100₹30,000
Home delivery (quoted per address; one-office delivery is free)300 × ₹120₹36,000
All-in₹3,06,000 (≈ ₹1,020 per head)

Where to save, and where not to

  • Save by consolidating: one order for the quarter beats three monthly ones.
  • Save by dropping the fifth item in a hamper — nobody misses it.
  • Save on packaging for internal gifts handed over in person.
  • Don't save on the one item people keep — the bottle, the bag, the pen.
  • Don't save on the card; it is the cheapest line and the most remembered.

GST and invoicing

Prices on zyftt.com already include GST, so the budget you plan is the budget you pay. Every order is invoiced with GST and your company GSTIN. Whether the GST is claimable as input credit depends on how the gifts are used — our GST guide explains the rules in plain English.
